Formation of Massive Star Clusters by Fast H i Gas Collision

چکیده
Young massive clusters (YMCs) are dense aggregates of young stars, which essential to galaxy evolution, owing their ultraviolet radiation, stellar winds, and supernovae. The typical mass radius YMCs M ∼ 104 M⊙ R 1 pc, respectively, indicating that many stars located in a small region. formation YMC precursor clouds may be difficult because very compact cloud should formed before feedback blows off the cloud. Recent observational studies suggest can as consequence fast H i gas collision with velocity ∼100 km s−1, is galaxy–galaxy interaction. In this study, we examine whether triggers using three-dimensional magnetohydrodynamics simulations, includes effects self-gravity, radiative cooling/heating, chemistry. We demonstrate gravitationally bound clumps > L 4 pc shock compressed region induced by collision, evolve into YMCs. Our results show precursors global gravitational collapse molecular clouds, even low-metal environments, such Magellanic Clouds. Gas expulsion in massive star clusters?
Context. Gas expulsion is a central concept in some of the models for multiple populations and the light-element anti-correlations in globular clusters. If the star formation efficiency was around 30 per cent and the gas expulsion happened on the crossing timescale, this process could preferentially expel stars born with the chemical composition of the proto-cluster gas, while stars with specia...
متن کاملMassive Black Holes in Star Clusters. I. Equal-mass clusters
In this paper we report results of collisional N -body simulations of the dynamical evolution of equal-mass star clusters containing a massive central black hole. Each cluster is composed of between 5,000 to 180,000 stars together with a central black hole which contains between 0.2% to 10% of the total cluster mass. We find that for large enough black hole masses, the central density follows a...
متن کاملThe Formation of Massive Stars and Star Clusters
We model the formation of high-mass stars, specifying the accretion rate in terms of the instantaneous and final mass of the star, the ambient pressure of the star-forming region and the form of polytropic pressure support of the pre-stellar gas core. The high pressures typical of Galactic regions of massive star formation allow a 100 M⊙ star to form in ∼ 105 yr with a final accretion rate ∼ 10...
متن کاملThe Formation and Evolution of Massive Star Clusters: Historical Overview
Some factors connecting the evolutionary histories of galaxies with the characteristics of their cluster systems are reviewed. Unanswered questions include: How is one to understand the observation that some globular cluster systems have disk kinematics whereas others do not? Why do some galaxies have cluster systems with unimodal metallicity distributions, whereas others have bimodal metallici...
متن کاملWinds Driven by Massive Star Clusters
Here I discuss the X-ray emission resulting from the interaction of star cluster winds with the surrounding medium. I demonstrate that X-ray emission from the free wind region dominates the total bubble X-ray luminosity if the central star cluster is sufficiently young, massive and compact. I also prove that strong radiative cooling is a crucial ingredient which defines the physical properties ...
